I became another year older in September, so there was, of course, plenty of cake. I had a little bit of time off to celebrate, but this was otherwise a work-focused month.

What I’ve been working on

I started with the copy-edit of a humorous adventure novel, and then I moved on to the copy-edit of some slice-of-life contemporary fiction. I also had the copy-edit of the third book in an LGBTQ+ fantasy series. What was particularly nice was that all three of these were by authors I had worked with before. I love being able to see writers grow in confidence and find their voice and signature style. To round off the month, I worked on the developmental edit of a high-fantasy epic by a first-time author.

Looking ahead

Cosy season approaches, so I expect to be wrapped up warm and at my desk for most of October.
