Okay, so, this is a round-up for the last three months – the blog had to take a bit of a back seat for a while, but I will endeavor to do better from now on!
What I’ve been working on
Let’s rewind all the way back to July. I had two very different projects for this month: one was the copy-edit of a work of science fiction that I’d previously critiqued; the other was a critique of a complex mystery novel.
August, by comparison, was a very busy month. I took on a couple of non-fiction proofreads: the first was a comical look at the world of accounting; the second was a moving memoir about adoption and loss. My critique for this month was for one of my regular clients – this novel delving into witchcraft and drug-smuggling. My schedule was completed by the copy-edit of a publisher’s first foray into fantasy romance.
By early September, I had completed the copy-edit of a quirky speculative novel set in the 90s London music scene. This was followed by the copy-edit of the latest installment in one of my client’s ongoing series. The critique of a work of low fantasy and the copy-edit of a twisty murder-mystery will take me into October.
Looking ahead
I hope to start repurposing my old CIEP book reviews and publishing them on my blog, as I think they still have some value. It would be a shame for them to disappear completely.
