September is the month of my birth, so I had a few birthday outings – most of them to do with cake. I also went back to the riding school a couple of times to sit in on lessons now that I am nearly ready to return. I have to spend rather a lot of money on a new hat and a well-fitted body protector before I get back in the saddle, though.
What I’ve been working on

My non-fiction run came to an end with the copy-edit of a history of Christianity and architecture in northern England. I moved on to the copy-edits of a semi-autobiographical adventure novel set in Southeast Asia and a work of contemporary fiction with a supernatural twist. The copy-edit of another semi-autobiographical novel will take me into October – this one about a divorcee’s exploration of sex and relationships in the vibrant city of her dreams.
Looking ahead
My pesky broken rib is starting to feel like it might be a not-broken rib fairly soon. I definitely need to build up my stamina and fitness again, so I will be easing back into things with some long walks and a bit of (very beginner’s) yoga.
